Cantilever Bridge

For my final project in ENGS 33 (Solid Mechanics) in fall ’15, I built a 6″ plywood cantilever bridge along with three other Thayer students, including frequent collaborator Liam Grace-Flood. Numerous iterations of our bridge were modeled in SolidWorks before we began building, and our failure load of just over 400 lbs (!) was predicted with high accuracy using FEA in SolidWorks.
