During my free time when I worked as a machine shop instructor at Thayer I taught myself how to write simple G code commands and build more complex CAM programs in SolidWorks. Youtube really came in handy here, along with assistance from a few knowledgeable friends. At Thayer I used Prototrak mills and lathes as well as a HAAS minimill. Later at Plenty, I also had access to a HAAS VF4.
Bicycle Seat Post Clamp
A seat post clamp with two extra threaded holes for mounting a rear bicycle rack. Brass nut slip fits into the clamp, designed to fail instead of aluminum body. 3D printed prototypes, and mistakenly backwards milled iteration also shown.

Planters
A holiday gift. First time using the VF4. Mostly an exercise in getting familiar with the new machine interface and utilizing scrap 6061 aluminum.

Earrings
Working on my skills with the Lathe. Threads were super tiny. I broke a lot of parts during this process. Also first time using 316 stainless and learning the hard way about work hardening.
